Options

Some things change, some things stay the same

In my many years of budget coaching there are several key principles that I've focused on and have used to help people master their finances. These principles can be applied using just paper and pencil if you somehow have the time to do that and the math skills to not make errors. But since most of us don't have lots of spare time and are human so we make mistakes, it's probably best to leave the heavy lifting to computers. If you're just getting started with budgeting the options can be overwhelming.

There are LOTS of budgeting options out there. Computers are pretty great at tracking things, especially numbers. But not all of the options will function in a way that fits with the principles I teach. I'm not going to take the time to explain the pros and cons of all the available software for budgeting. Instead I want to share two of them that you can use and get support from me to use in the best possible way for your situation. Here's a side by side comparison of these options so you can choose which one you want to try. In my comparison I will note similarities and differences but not as pros and cons necessarily since each one is going to be a good fit for different people.
